The cheapest, cleanest most efficient way to shift anything is through a tube, i.e. water, oil, sand, dirt and dust, people, gas, messages, projectiles and of course effluent waste food.
Many people/companies put chemicals and poisons into the sewage system, these kill the bacteria that by nature decomposes the waste. This decomposition produces methane gas which runs the turbines at the treatment plants and can produce surplus electricity to the plants needs. Therefore, the more organic matter to dilute the poisons are essential, with the sludge going into the forest and farms, nothing need be wasted.
Removal of waste on site removes the enticement of rats, mice, vermin, stray dogs, cats, flies and odours, the scourge of the third world countries and some western cities.

It uses water to transport the macerated food waste, but probably LESS than any other method. Other methods require you to wash down the area inside the building, the holding bins and transporters to keep them well maintained and kept looking smart. Also to consider is how much petrol, diesel, oil and also tyres are used to maintain a truck for transportation of waste.
The waste is organic and poisons are diluted which helps natural bacteria to break down the waste at the treatment plants. This reduces the need for vehicle transportation which reduces expenses and is more environmentally friendly.
Obvious benefits are the instant disposal of rotten foods and better control of waste. Because waste is not left in bins it reduces the presence of vermin on the premises. It also reduces the amount of waste that is taken to landfills which can produce explosive gases.
